The Brief

Bambora, one of the fastest growing players in the payments industry, asked True to help launch Bambora Connect – a packaged solution designed exclusively for companies who build, develop and sell software for mPOS devices: the Independent Software Vendors, or ISVs. With tight timeframes and a limited budget, we were starting entirely from scratch; Bambora needed a creative identity for their new product, and a suite of materials which would work across the funnel to educate, excite and convert.

The Truth

This wasn’t just another new payments solution. For our developer audience, it was ground-breaking. Speed to market was the competitive differentiator and ISVs that could quickly build and deploy higher quality consumer applications would gain an advantage in today's economy. Bambora Connect achieved that by delivering the best and fastest integration experience: using powerful APIs, ISVs could integrate payments in 20 minutes, and their merchants could start taking payments in under 24 hours.

The Idea

Bambora had created something truly amazing; a solution which could instantly transform the payment experience and generate new revenue opportunities for ISVs and their merchants. The creative idea ‘Unleash Amazing Payments’ was born. Our strategy was to build momentum and excitement in the lead up to the launch, followed by the release of a series of topical, thought leadership and evergreen content to raise awareness, build authority and help tell our story, on and offline.

Less than one month following the launch:

  • Bambora are in active dialogue with 19 ISVs with a forecast lifetime value of €8 million.
  • Bambora Connect is live in two EU countries, with partners in another five countries due to onboard merchants imminently
  • High audience engagement – average email open rates of 45.8% and click-through rates of 10.8% (vs. cross-industry averages of 20.81% and 2.43% respectively – source: MailChimp)
  • Brand-led searches for ‘Bambora Connect’ resulted in click-through rates of 16.67% via PPC search ads (553.73% higher than the B2B industry average – source:
